Publication Receives American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year AwardThe American Journal of Nursing gave a Book of the Year Award in Nursing Research and Evidence-Based Practice to the publication, Reviewing Research Evidence for Nursing Practice: Systematic Reviews.
YSN Associate Professor Robin Whittemore, PhD, APRN, contributed a chapter on research methods, entitled "Rigour in Integrative Reviews." The book is edited by Christine Webb and Brenda Roe, and is available from Wiley-Blackwell publisher. The award judges say of the book: "How many of us really understand
how to locate, review, evaluate, and effectively use systematic reviews and metaanalyses? This book teaches us those skills in an interesting, comprehensible manner, culminating in a series of chapters that provide examples of high-quality reviews on topics directly relevant to
nursing practice. Nurses can gain a solid understanding of
systematic reviews and learn how to use them to improve
their evidence-based practice and help ensure more positive
patient outcomes."
