Karina Danvers Encourages Action on HIV/AIDS Karina Danvers, director of the Connecticut AIDS Education and Training Center at YSN, recently participated in a discussion at a symposium on global health and the arts. In a talk leading up to a play about AIDS in Africa, Danvers told the audience she was diagnosed as HIV positive two decades ago encouraged others to take action. According a New Haven Register article, in talking about the physical deterioration of the play's character, Danvers said, "If we can get angry about losing lives, that's when anger can be used in a good way. And I hope you can get angry enough to do something positive."
