A story on Syracuse.com recounts the day YSN alumna Ann Wiles '49 lost a car tire and remained the picture of calm. The story begins: "Ann Wiles rarely gets rattled under pressure. She's been a nurse since 1949. Until this summer, she taught at the Crouse School of Nursing. She was there for 33 years, but Ann gave it up when the hospital asked if she could go full-time. At 87, she didn't want much more than a part-time gig. That might give you a sense of why Ann didn't panic a few weeks ago, when things went wrong on an afternoon drive..."
